Exhibition 2009: "Apotropaico"

PEPE YAGÜES MARCH 5, 2009. APOTROPAIC This exhibition is full of pieces-talismans, since atropaico, from the Greek apotrepein, means to move away, so the apotropaic effect is when objects are specially placed to ward off evil according to superstitious people in antiquity, although in the case of Yagües, It is also another type of distancing that can be seen in his works, as in Adiós Amor, in which one can even interact with the work, moving a hand so that the goodbye is totally literal. This is just one example of the originality of his works, since Yagües never ceases to amaze us.
