On April 11, 2004, the Sunday newspaper "El País" published a drawing by Carmen Laffón plagiarized from one of the best-known and most published photographs of José María Díaz-Maroto. On the occasion of this plagiarism, the author wrote to the newspaper "El País" where the deception was clarified and the entire subsequent altercation was published in full on the website www.elangelcaido.org
